First time Raider Jan Wade jumped right in to painting her plates, confidently covering four in no time! She decided to limit her palette to mainly black and white, having worked with lots of bright colours on the previous day.

She tells me that she has often painted with found objects, particularly Thrift Store wooden bowls so she is familiar with dealing with a three-dimensional surface.

Some of the Raiders have taken to painting the undersides of their plates so that the user has a pleasant surprise when checking the back. But Jan took as much time with the undersides as the fronts – so I felt I should show both sides of them all.

The last plate is one of the tiny triangular dishes.

I wonder what colours she will use next time.
