Juggling pots and family!

The last few days illustrate how my life is a blend of pottery-related activities, household stuff and days when family is top priority. Last Thursday I finished applying terra sigillata to the undersides of all my pots, fast-dried some still slightly damp plates in my convection oven (on 'warm'), loaded the kiln for the bisque firing and turned it on.   On Wednesday the train gang opened the huge train kiln at Shadbolt Centre. By the time I got there at 1pm all the pots had been arranged on three large ware carts according to whether the work was front, middle or back in the kiln. Tony’s Sunday throwing

What a busy week Tony Clennell has had since arriving here in BC a week ago today! After horrendous flight delays from Ontario he stayed in Vancouver, at Fredi's, the first night. Then he spent Tuesday at Shadbolt Centre preparing for the Wednesday start-up of his Wood-firing workshop, and wound up chez McMillans that night. We are enjoying having Tony Clennell as a house guest this week.
