Plate painting day

Five artists drove out to Port Moody on a really rainy day yesterday, loaded with masses of potluck lunch contributions! They all painted away with enthusiasm and we now have a great group of bone dry plates just waiting for me to get a final jug bird painted. Then I’ll get them all loaded in to a bisque firing as usual. Can’t wait to see how this latest batch looks after the glaze firing in a week or so.

Participants this time were Eric Metcalfe, Allyson Clay, Renée Van Halm, Mina Totino and first time visitor Marlene Madison. It is a real pleasure have a group, quietly painting away and chatting about local art related events as I work on my own pieces.

We now have a good selection of underglazes for these events so I look forward to ‘Raids’ every so often, whenever a group forms and we can coordinate a suitable day. Certainly Al and I appreciate the excellent lunch!
