Kookaburra Jugbird & others

Inspired by all the fabulous birds Down Under I chose to paint this jugbird with the large bill as a Kookaburra.
I love the turquoise markings on his wings and the crazy stripes on his tail. Do let me know what you think of this one. I have photos of several other birds I can imagine making as jugbirds.

I was painting theĀ other largish jug bird the day the artists were here and for some reason just applied swoopy colours and I like it! I don’t know what I’ll call him yet.

The other three jug birds are standard pieces for me. I plan to choose some to take to England.

And the goblets, although slightly silly, were requested by the Gallery of BC Ceramics. I think I’d use one for a scoop of ice cream rather than wine.

Glad you enjoyed seeing the Kookaburra jugbird. I made him fourteen years ago, once! Yes he was sold. I don’t think I’ll be making any more. Sorry.
