Studio all tidy for ArtWalk

Opening my studio for ArtWalk is a marvellous incentive to tidy and clean up! The space looks amazing. My glaze firing finished very early this morning and I won’t be able open it until tomorrow morning so it was a good chance to clear off ledges and arrange my display.

I think there are a couple of people who’d like a bird-feeder so I have made four and once-fired them below the jugbirds. Tomorrow they’ll need stick-perches cut to size and glued in. My bird visitors are at the feeder every day, especially now that they’re courting!

But all my colourful earthenware jugbirds are now spoken for, and they’re still hot! The airport Crafthouse has waited a month so I told them that I will display them this weekend and then take them to YVR first thing on Monday. (Anybody driving out that way on Sunday evening or Monday morning early?) So if you would like to have one of these colourful jugbirds in your collection take a look at these, let me know and I can make one specially for you.

I thought I had no stock for this weekend but I see that I saved half a dozen salty jugbirds and some other pieces from December’s salt firing with Herman and Dave. And there is some older work which I shall mark way down. Those pieces need to have a home. So do drop in, even if it’s just to chat. I’ll attach the invitation again so that you have the map. I am venue #19, at 2214 St. George street, a couple of blocks and over the hill from the Arts Centre.
