Mini-raid

Only three artists came out to paint the other day. I invited them to help fill my kiln and as usual it was a productive day. While Sally Clay, Katie Lyle and Eric Metcalfe concentrated on their plates I was busy getting my jugbirds painted.

Katie had asked for a large platter this time and she spent all day making sure the colours were thick and bold. It was interesting to see how she adapted her drawings to a curved platter shape. The result is stunning!

Sally is preparing for a solo show back East in the Fall (I’ll add details later) and wanted to focus on text for her pieces. The colours are gentle.

Eric asked for bold background colour on his two plates. The recipients of these will be pleased!
