Water tank art

Hornby Island relies on well water so the residents must save all the water they can. What to do with unsightly water storage tanks? Have a competition to enhance them.

We started to notice them on our first night on the island and asked why there is a Campbell Soup can beside the road. Public Art can be such fun, and so controversial! Here are the cans we found.

There are several others for you to find when you’re on the island. I’ve also included a photo of the Thatch pub and restaurant and a river otter sitting on the dock.
