TriCity Potters held a First Annual Christmas Potters Sale

We owe a big thank-you to Ysabella Choung and her husband Robert for inviting the TriCity Potters group to share her Spatial Arts Studio for a Christmas Pottery Sale last weekend. It turned out to be lovely crisp sunny weather to encourage locals to take a walk along Port Moody’s historic Clarke street and the event was most successful.

Members met at the little store/studio at 3 o’clock, an hour before the general public was invited, and had a little celebratory party and took the time to get to know each other better and have a good look at the variety of pottery contributed to the event. Ysabella had even ordered a cake from the Japanese cake shop next door. Here are photos from that evening.

Alan and I enjoyed a meal at the nearby Mexican restaurant and finished the evening listening to Gay Mitchell playing Celtic music on her flute with her harpist friend, in the newly opened Gallery Bistro. It’s right along from Spatial Arts Studio.

We each spent a couple of hours helping in the store over the weekend but Ysabella and Robert were there all the time. I thought the sale was very well organized and the work was beautifully arranged in what is usually a working/teaching space. I am told that sales were good, and members, you can expect your cheques when you come to our Christmas party on Wednesday Dec 12th at Kay’s! See you there.

First thing on Monday Spatial Arts Studio was returned to its normal arrangement, ready for Ysabella’s students to come in and make pottery. Visitors are welcome whenever the store is open, to see Ysabella’s work and to get information on classes available.
