Flora & Fauna in Yucatan

P1040820I took so many photographs of birds, glorious tropical flowers and the occasional iguana while Alan and I travelled around the Yucatan Peninsula that I thought it worthwhile to assemble them into one album. There are already two rather large albums which record our itinerary and I’ll post a link to them next. For those of you who haven’t had a chance to explore the Mayan temples in Mexico just sit back and give yourself an armchair slide show.

But first, if you are at all interested in birds take a look at how lucky we were! A boat ride on the Celestun lagoon next to the Gulf of Mexico was a once-in-a-lifetime treat for me. And spotting such birds as a pretty warbler at Tulum, a Squirrel Cuckoo at Chichen Itza and a Tree Creeper and vultures too, and a Mocking-bird, was marvellous. https://picasaweb.google.com/112208740085943894765/FloraFaunaYucatanFebMar2015

I photographed some of the plants just because they’re gorgeous colours or it makes a nice image, and I am not able to give them all captions. Maybe someone can help me out with those.

I’m so enjoying Spring here in my garden in Port Moody but I must remember to look at these tropical birds and plants when it’s windy, wet and grey here in November.
