Most of my most recent firing contained plates and platters painted by the ‘Raiders’. These blogs showing each of the underglaze painted plates is our way of keeping a record of the work done here. So in the first of two posts today I’ll show the work of Eric Metcalfe, Elizabeth McIntosh and Monique Fouquet.
Eric almost always chooses his traditional original oval plates. That way they’ll stack with the many he has already painted!
Elizabeth was keen to get four squarish plates painted on one day so that they can form a set. It’s been a while since she joined us. I’m glad folks still like the odd asymmetrical shape of this plate form.
And Monique has used three of the oval plates to make a related set in reds and greys. Very fine.
