I’ve been taking another look at the photos I took while Al and I were on our all-too-brief holiday in Puerto Vallarta in early February. Even though we have now been home for a month I felt like putting the best photos into a Picasa album for you armchair travellers! Join us for a little slide show of the ocean, flowers, birds and some art in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco MX.

We have become so familiar with this touristy town with its cobbled streets, colourful people, art and flowers, warmth and the ocean that we just decided to take a week there again. This was a chance to enjoy the walks we know, revisit our favourite galleries, read novels, swim, and savour good coffee, fresh fruit and piña coladas! Al likes to acquire a tan and I insist on getting back to the beach by about 6.30pm each night to catch the sunset!

We stayed at Hotel Playa Los Arcos which is right on the beach, not super luxurious, but with a good restaurant, pools and very helpful staff. The Playa Los Muertos pier is steps away, and the Cuale River, markets and the Malecon provide interesting strolls. Choosing a hotel right in the town means that for the week we never used a bus or a taxi at all.
