Packing Plates

This evening’s little chore is to pack up the most recently painted plates, ready for us to deliver to the Western Front tomorrow. That’ll be our Solstice adventure. How marvellous to know our days will get longer now!

The glaze firing included plates painted by the most recent visitors, Renée, Monique and Marlene, another one from Eric and four little dishes painted by one of my grandsons. Lucas is very excited to have secret surprises for his parents for Christmas!

Monique spent her whole day on one large beautiful round plate. The soft circles float on a grey background.

Renee completed two of her collage paintings with bold shapes and lots of red.

Marlene painted two matching ovals depicting salad fixings. Here is one of them. I expect they are planned gifts.

Her other two platters were started earlier and are now complete. The sidewalk scene reminds us of Summer.

And Eric’s work continues his interest in ceramic-pencil drawing along with painted areas of black, red and grey on a rimless coupe.

Pierre, I’ll leave your earlier plates at Western Front too. So all four Raiders, contact Eric to set up a collection date.

Best Christmas wishes to my fun Raiders, and to anybody else who reads my rather pottery-related blogs. If you haven’t already received a note about it, please know that my email address is now:  gillianmcmillanpotter@gmail.com        The old shaw one is disappearing.

I always love your pottery blogs. I have been interested in learning about the salt firings at the Shadbolt centre as well.

    Merry Christmas to you.
