Sur La Table

There were many ceramics shows organized around the Lower Mainland to coincide with ‘STOKED’, the Canadian Ceramics Symposium. A one-day pop-up, ‘Sur La Table’ was hosted by the Potters Guild of BC on March 25th, the actual day of the symposium at Shadbolt Centre. Members were invited to bring along plates and of course I took photos of many. It’s time to let you see the wonderful variety of work we saw. This brief blog will just be photos. I tried to make a note of all the makers but failed on one or two.

These are just some of the many plates exhibited that day. Along with the traditional ‘road show’ of random ceramics shown in the room next door, there was a feast ‘sur la table’.

Just outside I caught potter Meg Ida checking out FORM: the Mobile Contemporary Ceramics Gallery in its familiar Airstream trailer.

Now my desktop is a little tidier.

After delivering a new batch of pots to Circle Craft today, I applied wax to bisque-ware and then tackled a task of re-arranging bricks for a path in my disastrous bee-friendly/grass substitute garden. Tomorrow is glazing day.
