Where Form Meets the Boundless

After attending the presentation by five Taiwanese clay artists at Shadbolt Centre some weeks ago now, I was determined to find JigSpace Gallery in Vancouver to see more of their unusual work. On the day before the show ended Alan and I found the gallery at the south end of Laurel street. https://www.jigspace.ca

Yumeng of JigArt kindly emailed me a pdf of the artists’ statements so I’d like to post that information along with a couple of photos of each artist’s work. I’m afraid this blog will be mainly a photo essay to give you a taste of the different ways that these five visiting artists work. Four local clay people were invited to join them. Because the pieces were all brought to Canada by the five, on their planes, we weren’t able to see some of the larger, more delicate work they make.  Enjoy!
