Jugbirds and Bowls

Along with all the Raiders’ plates and a couple of Rhytons I did manage to get some other work of mine glaze-fired. I’m trying to build up some stock for the Summer Solstice ArtWalk/Shuffle which takes place here in Port Moody on the evening of June 21st. Mark your calendars!

Towhee & Flicker jugbirds

Goldfinch & Red-breasted Sapsucker jugbirds

This brief blog will show the eight most recent standard jug birds  and there’s a non-specific bird. He’s ‘Jade Jugbird with a Sky Blue Bill’ and it looks as if my pale blue slip is actually sky-coloured.

P Woodpecker & Seagull jugbirds

Red Cardinal & Eagle jugbirds

Jade Green jugbird with Sky Blue Bill

The top bowl in this little pile of six is painted with the same jade green. I think it’s my new favourite colour!

Ice cream bowls

My next blog will show some of the soda-fired pieces that were retrieved from a kiln in the same week. Horrifyingly the garden (I was offered a free Rhododendron so had to make space for it..) and a grandson day have meant that I haven’t been at my wheel for quite a while. And Raiders are hoping I have more plates under way..
