That Pottery Thing webinar

This will be your final reminder about NorthWest Ceramics Foundation’s special event this Thursday September 30th. There are only two days left to register and bid on 59 donated ceramic treasures.

Some potters have dropped by my studio to leave their donated plates. In the past these dessert plates have been a reward for patrons who have attended ‘Oven and Kiln’, our usual catered feast at which we showcased our major award winner, explained other NWCF initiatives and guests participated in the final minutes of the live auction.

Covid has changed much of that so this year’s events are scaled back but should prove to make a wonderful evening. The most recent invitation below gives details of our plans. The charming donated plates will hold selected pre-wrapped treats for the lucky few who are able to attend the event in person. Others will be given to Zoom party hosts, either with or instead of a practical little NWCF-made bowl containing .. oh my! ceramic Cheezies! Special thanks to TriCity Potters who’ve stepped up and have made a variety of plates for the event.

Tomorrow afternoon I shall drive in to Vancouver, to the Mayer studio at 1000 Parker street, deliver auction items from Linda Doherty, Sharon Reay and Eliza Wang, and some 40 donated plates, and help the members of the NWCF board set up the space. The auction items will be well displayed and lit. We’ll go over the presentations so that the Zoom webinar goes smoothly.

Do register for the Live ZOOM (see below) and be ready to watch the events, starting at 6.30pm. on Thursday September 30th. I know some of you will be wearing your orange T-shirts after having participated in Truth and Reconciliation Day activities. Please notify NWCF president Debra Sloan if you have invited friends to join you for a TPT party. debraesloan@gmailcom

Host Sheryl MacKay will be discussing what she sees so this will be a chance to have a better idea on what to bid for in the silent auction. Watch out for the closing times for three sections of items. While you wait you can watch videos and Power Point presentations and see what is happening at the event. Wishing we could get together in person, I hope you enjoy your evening of all things Ceramics in BC.
