Slept like a log – must be that glass of wine last night.. no rides available so Brenda and I shared a taxi, $7.50 each.
Put the handle on the 4th jugbird. Discussed with Claude Morin (Saskatchewan) some flashing slips from the lovely Phil Rogers Salt Glaze book. He mixed up two, a ‘yellow’ and a ‘red’, bless him and I lent him my sprayer in return.
While I waited for my pieces to dry enough to spray I took myself off for a delightful prairie walk. About an hour took me along the Seven Persons Creek again and north to meet the vast South Saskatchewan river. Clouds, a little squall and rain but it was over in minutes. A lovely 1 1/4 hrs. Saw a white pelican.
Finished my clay day with throwing some new beakers, all curvaceous, with the delightful H570. White but not porcelain. I may just do more throwing for a while. The H550 is disappointing – grainy, a bit short and my pieces feel chunky.
Joanne offered to take B and me to IGA at 7pm. Vital to stock up! Stir-fry and rice, internet and the news. Others are working late as usual.
